National Governor’s Association (NGA) received over $25million, of which $2,081,578 were earmarked specifically for the implementation of Common Core. In addition the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) received over $84 million, of which $17,247,236 were earmarked specifically for the implementation of Common Core.
As outlined in CDE Colorado Academic Standards History and Development, 250 citizens were selected to participate in 10 content specific subcommittees, but this document does not detail any public input, regarding decision to adopt Common Core State Standards. Instead WestEd was assigned to do a study comparing CAS and CCSS. What's worse is that WestEd has a conflict of interest. This organization has received over $2,987,668 from the pro-Common Core Gates Foundation. WestEd is also actively working to implement Common Core.
