Please urge our senators to add amendments that will cover these concerns. HB14-1202: Local Accountability Requirements for School Districts Thursday, April 24, 2014, Room SCR 356 This is a study to look at assesments, district & state level. Make sure to ask for an amendment to delay PARCC for 1 year, while keeping TCAP or NAEP. Let Judiciary Committee know your concern for protection of student data, and parental rights4/16/2014 The Colorado Moms along with Sen Vicki Marble and Rep Justin Everett have introduced this bill to protect student data, requiring parental consent for the collection and sharing of student data and prohibits all selling of data. This bill also protects teacher privacy. The bill (SB14-204) creates the "Student and Teacher Data Privacy and Security Act" (ACT). Please contact Judiciary Committee to let them know your concern for protection of student data, parental rights. Vote YES for this bill!

Make your presence known at the next State Board Meeting. There will be a rally from 10am - 1:30pm outside the Colorado Department of Education. Public Comment will be held at 3:30pm - join us and make your voice heard at the Colorado State Board Meeting.
There will be a rally at the Colorado State Capitol. People will come from all over the state in a show of solidarity against outside education reforms. Beginning at noon, Candidates for the 2014 elections will share their vision for Colorado education as they and others speak. There will be face-painting and food stands, a fun family event with meaning.
Monday, March 31st is the big day for HB14-1039 to go to the House Education Committee. This is the fourth time it has rescheduled and it's important! This is the bill that establishes procedures and protocol to mine AND SHARE data on preschoolers. E-mail the representatives and tell them NO.
